Elopement photo and video with Backcountry Vows is built for couples who want an intentional, intimate day in wild places. I’m an adventure elopement photographer and videographer based in Colorado, traveling often to Alaska, Utah, and Hawaii to film story driven weddings in the backcountry. From scouting locations and building a simple timeline to capturing vows, real audio, and the in between moments, every collection is crafted so your elopement feels calm in the moment and cinematic when you relive it later.
Your story deserves more than a photoshoot. It deserves to be seen—clearly, softly, truthfully.
This is for couples who mostly care about the moment they say “I do.” The Custom Ceremony Film Collection covers from first look through the end of your ceremony so you can relive the nerves, the vows, and the walk back down the aisle without committing to full day coverage.

For couples planning an intimate wedding with more than 50 guests, photo and video collections are typically built to feel like the best of both worlds: the ease and connection of a smaller celebration, with full storytelling coverage. Most packages include 6 to 8 hours of combined photography and videography, coverage of both your people and the epic scenery, and calm direction throughout the day. Travel within a Colorado is often included, with custom quotes for farther locations, so you can focus on being present while a small, tight knit team quietly captures everything from the big moments to the in between.
Wedding Collections start at $6,500 50 + guests
All offerings reflect starting rates and are thoughtfully tailored to each client. Final pricing may vary depending on location, scope, and any custom elements included in your session.
Yes. I act as both your filmmaker/photographer and your guide. I help you narrow down locations in Colorado, Alaska, Utah, or Hawaii, talk through seasons and weather, suggest timelines, and walk you through permit basics so the day feels calm and realistic, not like you are figuring it out alone. A lot of elopement photographers and videographers build this planning support into their packages because it is such a big need for couples
Yes—often and happily. Whether it’s Utah, Hawaii, or somewhere quieter, I have captured beautiful elopements and weddings all over the world
I typically book 3–6 months in advance However, I always welcome last-minute magic when possible.
Most couples are surprised that even an “easy” elopement usually needs more than a couple of hours. For photo and video, 6–8 hours is often the sweet spot so you have time for getting ready, a first look, travel to your spot, your ceremony, and some exploring without feeling rushed. Multi day or big adventure elopements (like heli, backpacking, or sunrise + sunset) often land in the 8–12 hour range or split across two days.
You do not get every raw clip from the day. Part of my job is to sort through all the footage and choose the best moments to craft a cinematic, story driven film that still feels honest and unpolished in the right ways. You receive your finished elopement film, plus your edited photo gallery if you booked photo and video, delivered online to watch, download, and share. Many experienced videographers work this way so you get something cohesive and watchable instead of a hard drive full of unfinished files
